In an era defined by rigid structures and data driven obsession, Benchmark famously conducts its Monday partner meetings without an agenda. According to partners Eric Vishria and Chethan Puttagunta, this lack of formality allows them to remain reactive and fluid, treating their collaboration as one long, decades spanning conversation rather than a series of checkboxes. They argue that staying small is precisely what enables this high fidelity communication, allowing them to pivot quickly when a founder needs urgent help or when a new technological possibility emerges.

The firm is evolving, however, acknowledging that sticking to a strict early stage mandate for twenty years was perhaps a tactical error given global inflation. To remedy this, they have introduced a growth fund designed to capture massive upside that previously fell outside their scope. Peter Fenton noted that while the amount of capital has increased, the goal remains concentration.
